Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2026

This policy covers Perfect Price: the apps for Android, Windows and Linux, the browser extension, and this website with its optional accounts.

In short: the apps need no account. Your products, target prices, lists and price history are kept on your own devices, and almost nothing about you reaches us — unless you choose to connect the app to a Perfect Price account (section 5).

Who is responsible for your data: Perfect Price, a project run by a private entity. Contact: pretulperfect.app@gmail.com.

1. What stays on your devices

Everything you put in the app — the products you track, your target prices, your lists, the price history built from your checks, the price alerts found, the app's activity log and your settings — is stored in a database on the device itself. We do not receive it and cannot see it.

2. What the apps connect to

3. Pairing your devices: the encrypted mailbox

Paired devices keep the same products, targets and lists through a small mailbox we run on Cloudflare's network. Before anything leaves a device it is encrypted with a key that only your devices hold — it is inside the pairing code — so the mailbox stores text that neither we nor Cloudflare can read. It does not see product names, prices or anything else in it; the names your devices show each other are encrypted too.

What the mailbox does hold: the encrypted packages, a random group number and random device numbers (which identify nothing about you), and a scrambled form of an access token derived from your key. Packages are deleted after 30 days; one encrypted copy of the whole group is kept and replaced as it changes, so a device can catch up; a mailbox no device has written to for 90 days is deleted entirely. We keep no request logs of our own on it; Cloudflare, as the network operator, processes the internet addresses of the devices that connect (see Cloudflare's privacy policy).

The pairing code is the key to your data: anyone who has it can read what your devices share, so keep it like a house key. If a device is lost or sold, remove it from another of your devices (Your devices → Remove): your other devices move to a new key, and the removed device cannot read anything new. What it already holds stays on it.

4. The browser extension

The Perfect Price extension holds a list of supported shops (at the time of writing eMAG, Altex, Media Galaxy, PC Garage, ForIT, Amazon.de, Verkkokauppa.com and Power), which it downloads from our server and keeps on your device. It is installed with access to all websites because that list can change without an extension update, but on every page it compares the site's address against the list on your device: on a site that is not a supported shop — most of your browsing — it stops at once, reads nothing, sends nothing and shows nothing. Our server is never told which websites you visit.

On a product page of a supported shop, it sends our server the product's identifier and page address, title, image address, current price and, where the shop publishes one, its barcode (GTIN), to show you the product's price history. This describes the product, not you; it identifies itself with an anonymous token linked to no account, and nothing it sends is stored.

When you press Alert, the extension gives the product and your target price to the Perfect Price app on the same computer, through an address only that computer can reach — and only after you allowed the extension in the app's own dialog. None of this is sent to us. You can make the app forget the extension in Settings → Browser Extension.

The extension does not collect your name, email address, payment details, browsing history, form contents, cookies, or anything from sites that are not supported shops.

5. Optional: a Perfect Price account

An account is optional. You make one on this website. We store the email address you give, which is your sign-in name and is used only for account emails (activating the account and resetting the password), and your password in scrambled form only. A bug report you send from the website is emailed to the administrator with your email address.

In the app, Settings → Perfect Price Server lets you sign in with your account. This works only once the server's administrator allows the app to use your account: the server records that your account asked, when, and the administrator's answer (allowed or refused). Once allowed, the app:

When you sign in, the app sends your email address and password to our server once, and keeps only the sign-in token it gets back, on that device. Disconnecting (Settings → Perfect Price Server → Disconnect) stops all of this at once; if the administrator withdraws the permission, the app stops in the same way. The app keeps everything it has; the account keeps what was sent to it until you delete the account. If you use our earlier mobile app, we also keep the latest diagnostic log it uploads (the checks it ran and any errors).

6. Notifications and permissions

Price alerts are notifications shown by your device; they are not sent through us. The Android app asks to run in the background (to check prices on schedule), to show notifications, and to use the camera only when you choose to scan a pairing code.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell or trade your information. The outside services involved are Cloudflare, which runs the mailbox (section 3), and Google, which delivers our account emails (Gmail), so your email address and the emails we send you pass through Google. The website's typeface comes from our own server, so opening a page does not contact Google. Product photos are loaded from the shop's own website, as they are when you visit the shop.

8. Server logs and backups

When a request to our server fails, its log records the internet address it came from; older log entries are overwritten as new ones arrive. The account database is copied every night and each copy is kept for 14 days, so the service can be restored after a failure.

9. Keeping and deleting your data

10. Your rights and contact

Without an account we hold no data that identifies you, so there is normally nothing for us to give you, correct or delete; your data is on your devices, under your control. For an account you can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to pretulperfect.app@gmail.com or using Report a Bug on the website. You can withdraw your consent at any time by uninstalling the app or removing the extension, which stops all collection immediately. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro). See also our Terms of Use.
